We have done large layouts of using silk plants for when the light levels are too low and there is no other option. In the 1970s, we were even using preserved plants that had people walking up to them to see if they were real.
On one of our current accounts, we only physically maintain the trees quarterly saving the client 10s of thousands of dollars per year.
In one of many computer stores (above), we were asked to install 28+ foot trees. In this installation, these 28 foot trees needed to fit into a space that has an 18 foot ceiling. Of course, we needed to make them not look like they hadn't had 10 feet removed from them! We were told, "Shush, don't tell anyone," by the person that selected them!
On this account we were asked by one of the largest landscape companies in the world to make some trees grow in this difficult environment. These photos show before we started and 2 years after the installation. These trees were acclimated on site from a nearly full sun growing grounds and are only maintained quarterly saving the client thousands and thousands of dollars.
Trees that we started with needed to defoliate to get the leaves that would be acclimated to the environment.

Best in Show at the San Mateo Fairgrounds display was used a photo on the cover of the San Mateo Phone book. We used 1000 Bromeliads and the price of Bromeliads went up 100% as the demand increased dramatically in the following year.
